ATB - "TWO WORLDS"

After gaining international attention throughout the US & Europe with his debut album "Movin Melodies" and current chart-toppers "9PM Till I Come", "Killer", & "Don't Stop".... ATB (a.k.a. Andre Tanneberger) took a break from DJing in the world's biggest clubs and Remixing hits for Moby, Enigma, & William Orbit to finish "Two Worlds".

Interview by Jon Marz

A brand new double album set with 20 tracks of Trance -Soul, which redefine the concept of Dance music. On some of these songs YOU feel yourself transported to a beach In front of the Cafe Del Mar in IBIZA. ATB insists that he covered the ground that has made him popular. "Melodies" is now at more than one million copies sold worldwide laying the foundation for the Massive Trance Wave which we now see worldwide today. "Dance music is 80, 90 Percent faceless," Tanneberger realizes. "Many bands are simply cast together and then jump around a bit on stage. I want to go against this trend; I want to give Music a face. "So I was looking for collaborations with other artists who have nothing to do with Dance or Trance in order to go beyond the usual boundaries and genres. On two songs ('Love Will Find You', "Feel You Like A River"), alternative rocker Heather Nova took over the singing parts. 'The work with Heather was outstanding...he says.... It was nice to work together with such a fantastic and professional singer." The NEW single "In The Fields Of Love" - to be released in the US Jan 2001 is a very urban, phat, hypnotic dance burner recorded with the artist York. It is a song with an Instrumental theme you can't get out of your head, like something from a Stanley Kubrick film. It also didn't take long to recruit Michael Cretu from Enigma, a longtime fan who's had ATB remix tracks for him in the past. The place has the suitable title "Enigmatic Encounter" - a quiet number which stands out on the one hand because of the typical ATB guitar and also clearly with Cretu's signature ENIGMA sound that sold 10 million albums in the 90's. Cretu was so impressed by ATB's work that he invited him to come and visit him in lbiza to work in the studio. A dream come true for ATB.... "Two Worlds" is divided into 2 segments - music to dance to and music to chill to. We sat down with the man himself for some insight.
